Questions and answers about exams and changing subjects
The registration period for an exam basically starts 4 weeks before the actual exam date and ends 7 days before, whereby the day of the exam does not count!
Example:
Exam date is Monday, 03.09. You can register until Sunday, 26.08./ 23.59 h.
- When registering for exams, please always pay attention to possible hints of the system.
- To check if the registration is correct, you should check this in your account under registered services!
Please always pay attention to the status of the registration. This field indicates the reason why an exam registration is not accepted.
Possible reasons are a missing course achievement (e.g. for CAD), the missing study counseling interview (the study plan must be approved and submitted to the examination office), missing credits (for participation in examinations in the main study program).
To check if the registration was done correctly, you should check this in your account under registered achievements!
If the examination registration has failed, please contact the examination office by e-mail within the registration period, even outside opening hours!
In this case, please contact the examination office.
In the course catalog, not only the dates of the lecture but also the examination date can be found under the respective course. Here the room and the exact time is indicated, in addition, if necessary, further information can be found under Remark.
Please make sure that you are in the correct semester, it may be necessary to switch to the corresponding semester first.
Deregistration from an exam is possible until 23:59 the day before.
If you find out that a registration is not possible on the system side, please contact the examination office in writing(PA15[at]uni-kassel[dot]de) and ask for manual registration. Please also pay attention to the deregistration deadline (date of e-mail receipt counts).
If you fall ill on the day of the examination, please submit the relevant certificate to the Examination Office without delay in accordance with the General Provisions of the Examination Regulations. As a rule, it should be available after 3 working days at the latest, as is usual in the professional environment.
If you feel unable to complete the examination due to health impairments during the examination, please contact the examination supervisor and have it noted accordingly that you are withdrawing from the examination due to illness and submit an appropriate certificate to the examination office without delay.
You register for the exam in the course. Exceptionally, no exam registration in HIS is necessary. Please bring a copy of the certificate with your matriculation number to the examination office. The entry will then be made manually.
If you have not passed or definitively failed an elective subject , it is possible to change a subject once per course of study in accordance with the General Regulations and the extended decision of the Examination Committee. Please submit the application addressed to your responsible examination board to the examination office. In addition, you must change the study plan accordingly and have it signed off by the specialization advisor.
Examination results that have been passed once cannot be repeated.
Registration for the final exam can be done by e-mail, by mail or in person at the examination office. Please bring the following documents with you to the registration:
- The application for admission signed by you and the two reviewers (examiners),
- the assignment of the paper on a separate sheet of paper from the respective subject area, since you only propose the topic in the application, but the issue must be documented accordingly,
- a current performance overview, which you can print out yourself via your account,
- a simple (not certified) copy of your Abitur certificate (for Bachelor) or simple copy of the Bachelor certificate (for Master).
As soon as the final exam result has been entered in your account after the exam review, you have four weeks to submit an application for the oral supplementary exam granted once per degree program. Please submit the original and signed application, which you can find on our homepage, to our examination office. Afterwards, the examination board will review and approve the application. You will receive a message as soon as the application has been approved, after which you will make an appointment with the respective examiner.
