Environmental planning and landscape management

In focus: concepts and planning strategies for dealing with nature and landscape . Here, the focus is equally on more ecological aspects (e.g. air/climate, water, soil/rock, plants, animals) and on political-planning concepts (communication, participation, strategies).

Specific learning objectives:

• Application of scientific, planning and legal standards, both on the basis of existing data and with the help of own surveys within the planning process
• Develop creative ideas based on critical discussion and thinking further about the standards.

The core of the Master's Degree in Environmental Planning and Landscape Management (ULM) is environmental and landscape planning and the implementation of landscape-related goals. This requires ecological and planning-legal knowledge, but also in-depth knowledge in dealing with conflicts, in the development of participation and implementation concepts, and in communicating planning content. Modern digital analysis and planning tools such as geographic information systems are also important.
