Landscape architecture and open space planning

Focus: Planning and design strategies focused on open space design, design methodology, and technology (development and innovation).

Specific learning objectives:

• In landscape architecture: focus on free inductive or experimental approach to promote appropriately innovative design outcomes,
• In open space planning: sustainable, spatial and organizational concepts for the development of open spaces at the level of neighborhood, city and region.

The Landscape Architecture and Open Space Planning (LF) major focuses on the planning and design of open spaces in cities and regions. It includes the new planning, renewal and addition of open space systems and individual public or private open spaces (e.g. green corridor, park, square, garden). Expertise and methods of analyzing social, ecological, technical and economic framework conditions of open space planning and competencies of design-based, structural-spatial design of open spaces in the context of their built environment are taught and critically reflected.
