Evangelische Religion (Lehramtsfach)

The subject Protestant religion can be studied in any teacher training program. One does not have to be Protestant to be allowed to study Protestant religion, however, this is a prerequisite for later receiving permission to teach at a school.

General aims of the study

The goal of the study program is to acquire the competencies needed to teach the subject Protestant Religion. In close accordance with the requirements of school and teaching, students learn the basic contents and methods of the subject in theory and practice.

Teaching competence is the reference point for teaching in all theological disciplines, and didactics is a fundamental component of the courses offered. The development of religious education concepts and models for religious education is accompanied by the process of clarifying one's own Protestant identity.

Tips for the study of religion

• The courses for the subject Protestant religion are usually held at the Holländischer Platz (HoPla) location.
• Some events require intensive preparation and follow-up. When preparing the timetable, it should be noted that the dates of the tutorials, are announced relatively late.
• A detailed description of the subject can be found in the current examination regulations.
