Sustainable Management (Master)

Man-made climate change and increasing environmental degradation are unmistakable signs: An economy that does not respect its natural limits is not sustainable. For this reason, ever greater importance is being attached to the sustainable development of the economy and society. A particular challenge here is the dovetailing of economic, legal and social science competencies with engineering and natural science knowledge. The aim is to develop sustainable solutions.

Master's students in the Sustainable Management program acquire sound specialist knowledge of economics, supplemented by the perspective of being able to make a contribution to the sustainable change process in the economy and society. This requires the ability to link technical and scientific issues with various social systems (companies, politics, society) in order to develop solutions from a holistic perspective.

The Master's program in Sustainable Management can be completed after four semesters. Admission requirements are a bachelor's degree in economics, an equivalent degree or proof of a university degree in a non-scientific field with a focus on sustainability and basic knowledge of economics amounting to at least 60 credits. Demonstrable knowledge of English is obligatory.

Possible occupational fields for graduates of the program can be found in companies that are increasingly addressing the issue of sustainability (corporate social responsibility), in consulting (corporate consulting, political consulting) and certification, as well as in the areas of politics, administration and research.
