Mechanical Engineering (Master)

Mechanical engineers plan and design technical products and processes of all kinds. They take care of the development and utilization of new technologies as well as the design and manufacture of innovative products. Graduates of the master's program in mechanical engineering are sought-after managers, for example in project planning, construction, maintenance or quality assurance.

The three-semester master's program at the University of Kassel builds on the knowledge students have acquired in their previous bachelor's program. There are only a few compulsory courses. Instead, the program offers sufficient freedom for individual specialization in the areas of

• Sustainable materials and manufacturing processes
• Energy technology and environmental engineering
• Automation and digital transformation
• Modeling and simulation in applied mechanics
• Man - Organization - Technology
• Sustainable automotive engineering

If you decide to study mechanical engineering, literally all doors are open to you after successful completion. The master's degree not only entitles the holder to pursue an engineering profession, but also to pursue a doctorate and independent scientific research. In all areas of mechanical engineering, interdisciplinary work is carried out for future-oriented research and development. The international orientation is also given in Kassel: You can complete semesters and internships abroad and, in consultation with the supervisors, also write your master's thesis in English (or another language).
