English and American Studies/ Anglistik und Amerikanistik (Master)

In continuation of the BA of the same name, but also following comparable national and international bachelor's programs, the program aims to provide students with a comprehensive scientific education, which, in addition to the development of subject-specific content, also includes in particular the critical and creative handling of subject-specific objects.

Thus, the MA English and American Studies opens up the possibility of doctoral studies or activities in an academic environment. The knowledge and skills acquired in the MA should enable graduates to engage in lifelong learning at a high level of complexity and thus enable them to continually adapt to new areas of activity in view of changing demand situations on the labor market. The subject-specific MA program in English and American Studies prepares students for an academic professional field within the framework of the subjects, theories and methods of English and American Studies with their specific interdisciplinary interfaces and thereby also creates a qualification basis for other science-related professional fields.
