Researching Sustainability

Our research approach

Our sustainability research is inter- and transdisciplinary and aims to scientifically analyze and critically reflect on topics based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and beyond, and to develop solutions. We represent a normatively presuppositional concept of sustainability, which is scientifically reflected in the social context and introduced into social transfer processes.

Research dimensions

We are currently focusing on a total of seven key research areas, i.e. four fields of action and three related normative dimensions. Individual topics (such as raw materials, intersectionality, international political economy, decent work, etc.) are assigned to the research dimensions. Here we distinguish between existing projects and Future Labs (as projects in the making).
