New research shows a path to prosperity for the planet

New research, now published in the journal The Lancet Planetary Health, shows that the planet will only be able to provide a basic standard of living for all people in the future if economic systems and technologies are drastically changed and critical resources are used, managed and shared more equitably.

The report was co-authored by over sixty leading natural and social scientists from the Earth Commission - an international scientific commission organized by Future Earth and the scientific cornerstone of the Global Commons Alliance. Prof. Dr. Stefan Bringezu from the University of Kassel was also involved, first as a representative of the International Resource Panel and then as an expert. The report builds on the Safe and Just Earth System Boundaries report published last year in Nature.
