Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jakob Kirchner

Dr.-Ing. Jakob Kirchner has been Head of the Department of Construction Informatics at the Institute of Construction Management since April 2023. He studied civil engineering at the TU Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 2020 on the topic of "Knowledge-integrating modeling of the geometry of buildings with intervals and constraints for parameters".

Before joining the University of Kassel, Jakob Kirchner worked as a post-doc at the Department of Civil Engineering Informatics at TU Berlin, where he subsequently worked as Head of IT at the Institute of Civil Engineering. His research at the University of Kassel will focus on the testing of data models in civil engineering and the knowledge-based design of digital building models. The aim is to increase the efficiency of computer-aided planning processes and the data quality of as-built, planning and operational models of structures.
