Campus festival with comedian Moritz Neumeier on May 23

Neumeier (36) started his career as a poetry slammer; he is now a regular guest comedian on shows such as the Carolin Kebekus Show and Extra 3 and has been awarded the German Cabaret Prize 2024 in the cabaret category. For his appearance at the Campusfest, you can expect him to have taken a close look at the University of Kassel. His performance starts at 5 pm in lecture hall 1.

With its Campus Festival, the University of Kassel has been providing insights into its research and range of courses for years under the motto "hands-on science". This year, for example, the Department of Building Sciences will be presenting its VR Lab and the Department of Human-Machine Systems Engineering its robotics laboratory. Scientists from the fields of sport and literature will be giving demonstrations of medieval fencing and two members of the Expert Commission for Research and Innovation will be reporting on how to advise a Federal Chancellor.

Researchers will also present their current topics in various short formats on a knowledge stage. A stage program with theater and music on the square in front of the central cafeteria rounds off the campus festival. The indie pop band "Rosmarin" will get the audience dancing from 20:45.

Around 8,000 visitors attended the last edition of Campusfest in 2022.

Moritzstraße will be opened to traffic immediately before the festival opens at 3 pm. Moritzstrasse runs as a calmed area between the north and south sections of the Holländischer Platz campus and has been undergoing extensive renovation since April 2023. At 2.30 p.m., University President Prof. Dr. Ute Clement and City Climate Councillor Simone Fedderke ceremonially cut a ribbon.
