Newly appointed professors
Welcome to the University of Kassel Prof. Dr. Fenja Klevenhusen!
In September, Dr. Fenja Klevenhusen took up the qualification professorship for Environmentally Compatible Animal Nutrition in the Department of Organic Agricultural Sciences in Witzenhausen. Her aim is to research feeding strategies for livestock, especially ruminants, using in vitro and in vivo methods in order to develop environmentally friendly and animal-friendly concepts at individual animal and farm level. After studying agricultural biology at the University of Hohenheim, she completed her doctorate at ETH Zurich in 2010 on the topic of methane emissions from dairy cow husbandry. After a further year as a postdoc at ETH, she moved to Vetmeduni Vienna and worked there as a university assistant. In 2020, she completed her habilitation in animal nutrition and was awarded the Henneberg-Lehmann Prize. For the last four years, she worked at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin, researching the risks of plant toxins in the feed of dairy cows
