Welcome to the University of Kassel Prof. Dr. Jennifer Pavlik!
In the winter semester 2021/22, Dr. Jennifer Pavlik took over the Department of Modern German Literature/Literary Didactics. She received her doctorate from the Universities of Luxembourg and Bonn in 2013. After research stays and academic activities at Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Luxembourg and Yale University, the native of Northern Hesse has now returned to her old home. Her research is interdisciplinary and she primarily investigates areas of ethical and aesthetic media education. Against the background of her interest in the synergy effects of literary and philosophical education, she is currently researching in particular the significance of astonishment for literary-aesthetic approaches to understanding and non-understanding. Her research also focuses on questions of intercultural education, media reflection and culturally oriented literary studies and didactics.
